Dog Breed restrictions

It has come to my attention that their is a list of 75 dog breeds that are either banned or restricted. Many of these dogs have great temperaments and have no right being on any banned list! I will not go through all dogs on the list but you can check out the list here: 75 innocent dog breeds

Ok so I will start off with a breed that most people wouldn't ever think is a danger to society: ALASKAN MALAMUTE, the larger breed with a lot of fur that looks like a husky. This dogs temperament is as the quote says,
The Alaskan Malamute is extremely loyal and intelligent, sweet and most affectionate toward its master. Great with children who are old enough to play with him safely. If its canine instincts are met, it matures into a dignified and mellow adult dog. They are very friendly and therefore are not suitable as guard dogs.
Now how in the world did this dog get on a banned/restricted list? Apparently it is due to the wolfish look they can have.

Another dog on the list is AMERICAN BULLDOG, despite it's strong muscular body build and possibly intimidating loyalty, this dog's temperament is described as:
The American Bulldog is loyal, reliable, brave and determined. Not a hostile dog. Alert and self-confident, this breed genuinely loves children. It is known for its acts of heroism toward its master. It has strong protective instincts, and needs a firm, confident, consistent pack leader.
So how can a dog breed that is known to be heroes and be awesome with children on the banned/restricted list? Because people lump this breed in with Pit bulls. Yes that is the reason, and it's a stupid one.

Third breed I want to talk about is the AMERICAN HUSKY, you might think of this as the black and white dogs with a fluffy tail but this is the American Husky, not Siberian. This breed is actually almost all gone!
The American husky, or Canadian Eskimo Dog, is a very old breed originating nearly 1,000 years ago where the breed was raised by the natives of Thule. Unfortunately, this breed is almost at the point of extinction.
Not a lot of pages on this breed, I was lucky to find this one so I will share it with you now: American_husky

Some other dogs that I will not go into as much depth about are Boxers, Bulldogs, Eskimo, Fox Terrier, Pugs I mean so many dogs on this list have an above average temperament! Just because you get a few bad apples, does that mean you will never eat one again? Honestly this is just bullshit discrimination against dogs. Society thinks that just because a dog looks mean or has bitten ONE person then the whole breed is evil. Well guess what, any dog can bite, any dog can turn on a dime and lose it. They are like us, they can only handle so much stress and bullshit before they snap! Also it depends on how you raise them.

Another dog that nobody will be surprised to hear on the list is the American Pit Bull Terrier. I own a pit bull mix and he is a baby! He is sweet, and a flirt. He gives kisses and cuddles and he is also loyal and protective of me. He is a great dog and I would love to be able to get a full blooded pit bull. So many people have the wrong idea about these dogs and it's due to
A) Stupid owners- If you raise a dog wrong they will be a confused dog. If you punish them by beating them they will become fearful and more likely to be aggressive. If you don't take control of your dog at an early age during training then you will never have full control later on.
B) Misidentification- I see it all the time, so many people just assume a dog is a certain breed cause of the way it looks. Did you know a lot of these so called 'Pit Bulls' that attack people are actually not pit bulls? Boxers, American Bulldogs, Alpha Blue Blooded Bulldogs, Dogos, Bull Mastiffs, Presa Canario and even some Labradors. So many other breeds are mistaken for pit bulls, makes you wonder how many pit bulls have actually attacked people huh? If you want the full list, here is a link: find the pit
C) Bad Owners- These people are the reason why pit bulls have such a bad rep. These BAD owners are the ones who use them to fight, or train them to be mean and aggressive. These people who use dogs as weapons and pons to make money are the ones who need to be banned and restricted from owning any animal. Hating the breed that has been mistreated is like hating an abuse victim for lashing out due to being hit everyday by a spouse or parent.

So the next time you think about buying a dog or looking for a place to rent, think about what breed you have and if it will be allowed in your home or even another state. Then when you think you see a pit bull in a pet store or on the street, think to yourself "Do I REALLY know what pit bulls look like?" because for all you know, you could be scaring yourself over a fake reputation on the wrong dog.
