Gay Marraige yay or nay?

Now this is a hot button topic no matter what year or state/country you live in. Both of the sides to this have a lot of support, and a lot of people who say they don't care either way actually do have an opinion it's just very slight.
A lot of the people who appose it are trying to use the bible and religion as an excuse to hide behind. They claim it's a sin to be gay and that God doesn't allow it, and that it says so in the bible that a man cannot lay with another man.
> “In the same way also the men, giving up natural intercourse with women, were consumed with passion for one another. Men committed shameless acts with men and received in their own persons the due penalty for their error.” (Romans 1:27)
The people for Gay marriage have countered these claims by pointing out the other outdated bible quotes. According to the bible:
> “Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord.” (Ephesians 5:22)
>“Slaves, submit yourselves to your masters with all respect, not only to the good and gentle but also to the cruel.” (1 Peter 2:18)
>‘Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt-offering on one of the mountains that I shall show you.’ (Genesis 22:2)

So if they want to take that ONE verse seriously, then why not take the others just as seriously now? It also says that masturbation is a sin. I've come to notice that if it has something to do with sex or sexual actions that it sticks through time. But if it has something to do with slavery or non-equality then it's not relevant anymore. If you want to quote the bible and do as the bible teaches, then you can't have women teaching in a church. You can't have women working or THINKING, according to the bible the only thing a woman is good for is being a house slave to their husband and raising the kids. This was the norm years ago till we realized women can also contribute a lot to the world and it changed.
Gay rights should be changed also. They contribute just as much to the world as anyone else, they are no different then anyone else. They live, breath, think and have emotions just like you do. They love God and are good citizens just as you are. Why should they have less rights then anyone else? We don't discriminate against blacks, assassins, or natives because it's wrong. Same with being sexist.

The church and people who do NOT associate with the church who are against it have their reasons, I understand that. It's their opinion if they do not like the life choices of gay people but it's not right to shun them or discriminate against them because of their opinions. Most people who are against it for reasons other then religion generally don't like it because they find it gross or wrong. They don't understand and don't want to accept it so they fight against gays having the same right as them and their spouse.

I am for Gay Marriage, and I proudly support the LBGT community. As an open minded person, I try to understand the things that I currently do not understand, I try to open up and view others opinions from their sides but this is one of those things that I can't do that. I have tried, but I just can't. I can't see how anyone could think this is the right thing to do, it's never right to take away the rights and freedoms of the innocent. The people who have done nothing to you, who's actions and life style choices would effect you in no way at all how can you take away something that would make them happy? The really sad part about this is that if gays where allowed to marry freely all over then the divorce rate would probably go down. Male and Female couples who are married are getting divorced a lot more now a days for whatever reasons while gay couples seem to stay together a lot more. Probably because they know they need to stick together due to the bigots that wouldn't hesitate to kill them in the streets.

So... what is your opinion on this subject? Are you for it or against it and why?

    1. That's just it though, it really wouldn't affect you. It might be seen more in public and they may flaunt it a bit more but directly it wouldn't affect your lifestyle. :)
